If you had told me a few years ago that I would be standing in a kitchen in Milan, rolling out fresh pasta dough with total confidence, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Like many travelers, I arrived in Italy with a deep love for food but absolutely zero technical skills. That was until I met Cookandine and discovered the incredible heart behind this family.
How It All Began: A Cooking Class at Home
Cookandine was born back in 2015, quite literally in the warmth of Aurora’s own home kitchen. Driven by a profound passion for local ingredients and traditional flavors, Aurora had a clear, beautiful goal: she wanted to pass down the real culture of Italian food to curious minds from all corners of the globe.
To Aurora, a recipe is never just a list of steps or numbers on a page. Every dish tells a story. She believes that to truly appreciate Italian cuisine, you need to understand the cultural history of the region it comes from, the legacy of its ingredients, and the incredible biodiversity that makes our territory so unique. Here is the thing about Aurora: it truly doesn’t matter how intimidating a recipe might look, or how clumsy you think you are in the kitchen. She has this rare, almost magical ability to make everyone feel right at home.
Whether she is guiding you through the delicate, rhythmic process of crafting the perfect handmade Ravioli or simmering a rich, authentic Ossobuco alla Milanese, Aurora breaks everything down step-by-step. Her patience and warmth can get anyone—even the most stubborn beginners—excited to put their hands in the dough and step up to the stove.
Our New Kitchen: Bringing People Together
What started as intimate gatherings for a handful of people in a home kitchen quickly turned into something much bigger. Word spread, and the desire to experience Aurora’s classes grew so fast that Cookandine eventually outgrew its original home.
To welcome everyone, Aurora opened a dedicated, professional culinary space designed to bring people together outside of her private house. Today, this cozy venue hosts both our signature intimate cooking classes and premium corporate team-building events under our sister brand, Team Cooking Milan.
Cookandine Today: Passing the Torch to Lucrezia
As the business grew, the family energy expanded too. Today, the kitchen has blossomed into an even more dynamic and welcoming experience. The classes are managed and run by Aurora’s daughter, Lucrezia, alongside a carefully selected team of professional chefs who share the exact same devotion to local culinary culture.
What makes Lucrezia and her team so special is that they don’t just bring world-class technical skills to the table; they bring an extraordinary human touch. They have an innate gift for connecting with people, reading the room, and making the most inexperienced beginners feel completely capable. Under their patient, cheerful guidance, any fear of failing a recipe completely melts away. Before you know it, you are laughing, sharing a glass of wine, and completing a fabulous, picture-perfect traditional dish with your own two hands.
